Miss Ava, “The Science Lady”, is offering hands on science classes to students in grades K – 3 beginning Aug 17 – Nov. 9. These classes feature many educational resource materials, experiments, and make & take projects.

Physical Properties: Make a clay medallion to represent your family or favorite activities.
Bird Sanctuary: Learn what is needed to set up a bird sanctuary. Make a birdfeeder.
Chemistry: Mix corn starch and water to make this substance called Ooze.
Colloids: Glop is the most amazing substance made out of glue and borax.

Phases of the Moon: Learn how the moon changes every month by making a flip book.
Constellations: Use a stargazer to identify the stars in the constellations.
Sedimentary Rocks: Show how rocks are formed in layers by melting chocolates n a Ziploc baggie using the heat from your hand.
Igneous Rocks: Build an erupting volcano with cement. Watch it erupt using baking soda, Dawn, and vinegar.
Metamorphic Rocks: Mix a saturated solution using borax to grow crystals on a pipe cleaner.
